The theatre day is always changing: a case runs long, a room needs a deep clean, a nurse hands over early. Bramwell keeps that picture live and shared, so the team stops relying on a physical board and a chorus of “where's my patient?”

The whiteboard

A board anyone can watch but no one can edit, on the wall, on desktops and on phones, showing every case by room and time, colour-coded by state. Nobody can change it from the board itself, so it can be trusted: what you see is the current plan, updated the moment anything changes.

Coordinator planning

The coordinator gets a drag-and-drop grid to place and move cases. It knows the difference between a warning you can go past (a nurse who's busy but could hand over early, so “are you sure?”) and something it won't let you do (put two cases in the same room at once). Whenever you go past a warning, it's saved to the record.

  • Drag a case onto any room and time, or click to place it.
  • It warns you when a staff member is double-booked (you can still go ahead if you know it's fine) and stops you when a room is already taken.
  • Block rooms out for cleaning or maintenance so nothing lands on them.
  • It quietly flags when the time booked looks too short for that surgeon, based on how long they usually take.

The patient journey & milestones

As a case moves through prep, theatre and recovery, the team logs each step with a single tap, not a form. Standard surgical safety checklists appear at the right moments. Those taps power the live handover view (who has each patient now, and where they are) and, later, the analytics.
